Educating the public about ingredients in pet food comes naturally to my pal Dorothy Hunter. She is the owner of Paw's Natural Pet Emporium in Washington state and believes so strongly in this, that she is eating only pet food and treats for 30 days. At the writing of this post, she is more than half way through her quest.

Dorothy believes, as I do, that pet food should be made from the highest quality ingredients. Single ingredients are best as are those you are able to pronounced and are sourced from the United States. Too many bad things have happened in recent years from products sourced and/or produced from outside of the country.

Most of the pet owners I know understand this. Their pets have great diets and live long, healthy lives. But many pet owners in the world actually don't take the time to read the labels of the food they purchase for their furry keeps. All too often, the food bought is that which is on sale or is closest when they are at the grocery store.

To that end, Dorothy has been on a mission to educate the public. She has eaten kibble and canned food, treats and some not so tasty items. She isn't on a diet to lose weight; she's on a mission to make pet's lives better and to highlight companies that take that committment to pets so seriously, that they pour their hearts and souls into their products.

It makes me proud that she includes Scout & Zoe's in that select group of companies.

Here is a link to an interview Dorothy had on July 7, 2014 with KIRO Radio in Seattle, Washington. Her favorite treats? Scout & Zoe's chicken jerky! But your dog probably already knew that!

Go Dorothy, go!
