With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce that our beloved Zoe crossed over the Rainbow Bridge at 2:15pm EDT on April 17, 2014.  Zoe was 14 years old.

She was the furry daughter to Cindy and Steve Quirk, affectionately known as the Momster and Dadster, and big sister to Scout. All of us are in deep mourning of her loss.

Zoe had a terrific life. In her younger days, she enjoyed running and creating havoc in the yard of her home turf of Edgewood, Indiana.  She wiled away the hours chasing squirrels, barking at wheelbarrows, rakes, shovels and brooms and especially was fond of securing the perimeter of her home.

As the years passed, she was content to bark at the occasional passerby as well as lie in the sunshine being brushed or loved on all while enjoying a nice spring, summer or fall day.  In the wintertime, she was amused watching Scout eat snow or run around with empty plastic buckets.

But most of all, Zoe enjoyed being with me, the Momster. It didn’t matter where I was or what I was doing, Zoe wanted to be right beside me or within a few feet to ensure I was safe and sound. Rides in the car, walks around the neighborhood or playing with the new puppies of friends were all loves of this special girl. When the collar for travel was pulled out, Zoe would light up knowing a walk or ride in the car was soon to come.

Zoe’s allergies developed at the tender age of six months old and were a constant source of irritation for both of us. So much so, that the I made it my mission to do everything in my power to lessen the effects of the allergy triggers. After years of searching, it also lead to the creation of a company that creates antler chews that were not of beef origin or flavor, the main item to which Zoe was allergic. The company bears Zoe’s and her brother’s names…Scout & Zoe’s.

To say Zoe had an impact on the world would be a great understatement. In the six years since Scout & Zoe’s was created, thousands of doggies the world over have enjoyed the chews and treats the company offers all because of Zoe and those pesky allergies.  Zoe throughly enjoyed her position as Top Dog Taste Tester for the company.

Our world is much better because of Zoe’s presence in it. Her legacy will live on through Scout & Zoe’s and especially in the hearts and memories of her family and all those who loved her dearly.

Rest well my sweet angel. I love you and miss you terribly. You will always have your paw prints on all our of hearts.
